Holy Trinity Welland is responsible for the Smith Street Cemetery.
Established in 1857 at the site of the Holy Trinity's first framed church, the cemetery continues to serve the needs of both of Welland's Anglican churches. The cemetery is located on the north side of Smith Street, between Aqueduct Street and Chippawa Street, in the City of Welland, Ontario. It was established with the purchase of one acre of land and has since become a significant burial site for many individuals.
The cemetery's history is closely tied to the Parish of Holy Trinity, which was established in 1857 and has a long-standing presence in the heart of Welland. The cemetery's history reflects the growth and development of the community. The cemetery is also known for its tranquil and simple beauty, with well-tended gardens and flowers, offering a peaceful place for those who wish to pay their respects.
The cemetery is currently maintained by volunteers at Holy
Trinity and new volunteers are always welcome.
